This page explains the browser storage and external-content controls used by nexusaequalitatis.com.

1. Strictly necessary storage

The website may store your cookie-consent decision and accessibility preferences locally on your device so that it can respect choices you have explicitly made. Secure PHP session cookies are used for authenticated administrators in the private admin area. These functions are not used for advertising.

2. Article view counter and optional first-party analytics

Nexus Aequalitatis keeps a basic aggregate count of article openings even when optional analytics are disabled. This counter stores only the article ID, an hourly time bucket and the number of openings. It does not use cookies or localStorage and does not store a browser/session identifier, IP address, user-agent, location or fingerprint. Optional analytics remain off by default until you choose to enable them. When enabled, Nexus Aequalitatis may additionally record approximate unique visitors, active reading time, maximum scroll depth, site page views, aggregate site-search terms, clicks on support-resource links or major site sections, coarse country/region where available, and browser performance measurements such as LCP, INP, CLS and FCP. The optional analytics layer uses a one-way pseudonymous identifier for approximate unique-visitor counts. Raw IP addresses, email addresses and user-agent strings are not stored in the analytics tables. Common email-address and long-number patterns in recorded search terms are automatically redacted. Optional analytics records are retained for up to approximately 18 months.

3. External content

External content such as the Brevo newsletter form and YouTube/Vimeo embeds is held back until you enable the “External content” option or explicitly ask to load that content. Once loaded, the external provider may process information or use cookies under its own policies.

4. Changing your choice

You can reopen the consent panel at any time using the “Ρυθμίσεις cookies” control in the footer. Rejecting optional functions does not prevent you from reading Nexus Aequalitatis articles.

5. Accessibility preferences

Accessibility settings are separate from analytics consent. They are applied only when you choose them. If you save accessibility settings, the preference is stored locally on your device so the site can keep the appearance you requested.
